

Andrea E. Hergenrother, 50, of Pleasant Plains, died at 1:56 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX after a short, but courageous battle with appendiceal cancer. Andrea was born May 9, 1963 in Springfield, the daughter of Ed and Ann Brown. She married Kurt Hergenrother on June 26, 1993 in Springfield. Andrea was a graduate of Glenwood High School and received her accounting degree from Illinois State University. She went on to work as an accountant for Kerber, Eck & Breckel, R.W. Bradley Supply Company, Kwik Wall and most recently, ANPI. She was a huge Illini basketball fan, loved attending her children's events and was a Food Network channel junkie. Andrea enjoyed cooking and using old family recipes. Some of her favorite times were spent cooking Sunday dinners and hosting holiday dinners. She was a true matriarch and loved collecting roosters. Andrea loved being a mother and her daughters were her world. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Brown and her father-in-law, Bill Hergenrother. She is survived by her husband, Kurt Hergenrother of Pleasant Plains; three daughters, Haley, Hannah and Heidi Hergenrother, all of Pleasant Plains; father, Ed Brown of Chatham; three sisters, Katie (husband, John) Pavelko of Springfield, Rebecca (husband, Dave) King of Bloomington, and Pamela Sprouse of Fairfax, VA,; two nieces, Anna Pavelko and Rowan Sprouse; mother-in-law, Rose Hergenrother of Pleasant Plains; brother-in-law, Kevin Hergenrother of Springfield; two very close childhood friends, JoLynn Gooding Crain and Gina Caccioppo Olmsted; and her beloved pets, Lily, Mickey, Mama Kitty, Sissy, Sweet Pea, Simba, Cindy and Elway. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following the visitation. Memorial Ceremony: 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
