Anna was born on October 15, 1931, in Sangamon County, the daughter of William and Marjorie (Richardson) Lamkey.
Anna was a 1949 graduate of Tri-City Buffalo High School. Anna was a farmer’s wife for many years before she became an office manager for a local restaurant and then worked for the State of Illinois. Anna was an active member of the Methodist Church in Riverton where she led the children’s choir. She was also active within the Red Hat Society and a member of Fit Club. Anna loved spending time with her friends and family, as well as traveling, especially to Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Delora M. Leaderbrand, Roberta L. Bernahl, Alice L. Broughten, and Susie Hyde; two brothers, William E. and Charles R. Lamkey; and the father of her children, William D. Kresse.
She is survived by her son, Robert (wife, Darlene) Kresse; one daughter, Marilyn Kresse; two grandchildren, Bobby (wife, Lenee) and Chelsea Kresse; two great-grandchildren, Tinley and Kase Kresse; and several nieces and nephews.
Private family ceremonies will be held.
