Araya Skyy Ross

Araya was born on December 5, 2020 in Springfield, the daughter of Patrick B. Ross, Jr. and Shannon D. Jackson.

Araya was a very vocal and happy baby, with an infectious laugh like no other. She had the biggest and brightest smile. If you ever met her, you would know why. Araya was loved so much. Our beautiful girl was only with us for four months, but she leaves her smile as her legacy. We love you, our little angel. Fly high, baby girl…fly high. To know Araya was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, LaVonne Moore; grandfather, Robert Austin; uncle, Ronny K. Ross; and cousin, Xavier M. Ross.

She is survived by her parents, Patrick B. Ross, Jr. and Shannon D. Jackson of Springfield; grandparents, Valentina and Patrick Ross, Sr. of Springfield, and Barbara Austin of Champaign, IL; six siblings, Stevie, Sha’Kaya, Sha’marie’r, and Syyier Blount, and Ka’liyah and Akyri Ross; aunts and uncles, Dominique, Kendra, Keymara and Eugene Jackson, Beverly Lambert, Janelle Ross, James Radcliff, Ronnisha Ross, Torian and Mitchell Hemingway, Elijah and Malcolm Ross; and a host of cousins and other family members.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited capacity.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following visitation.
