Ardell L. Thompson, 77, of Springfield, passed away at 4:14 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center. Ardell was born July 7, 1925 the daughter of Frank William and Mamie Elizabeth Phillips in Springfield. Ms. Thompson had worked at Balestries Restaurant as a waitress. She was also a member of the Western Oak Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son: Robert Thompson, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by one son: David Thompson of Springfield; one daughter: Suzi Thompson of Springfield; one sister: Opal Cawley of Springfield; nine grandchildren: Reverend Sonja King, Sean Thompson, Amy Thompson, Chris Thompson, Carrie Calandrino, Shannon Calandrino, Melissa Thompson, Daniel Thompson, Tess Thompson; and several great grandchildren. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 9-9:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2002. Funeral Services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Sonja King officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
