Audrey I. Johnson

She was born September 18, 1925 in Rolfe, IA the daughter of Albert and Hattie Ercelle (Hicks) Peers. On September 26, 1948 she married Arthur M. Johnson in Manson, IA.

Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Rolfe High School. She then went on to get her normal school training and taught at a country school. She later was a loving homemaker who enjoyed and excelled at home interior decorating. She was a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aide and Card Club. She loved art and music.

She is survived by a daughter, Sally Johnson of Chatham; two grandsons, Justin Johnson of California and Jason Johnson of Chatham; two great grandsons; a great granddaughter; two great great granddaughters; two sisters, Wanda Hodgell of Humboldt, IA and Violet Schoon of Cave City, AR; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 30, 2010; her parents; and a sister, Helen Johnson.

Cremation rites were accorded. A private interment for Mr. and Mrs. Johnson will be at St. Paul’s American Lutheran Cemetery in Manson, IA at a later date. Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangement. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
