
Audrey M. Keiger, 83, of Springfield died at 3:48 a.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital. Audrey was born February 23, 1921 in Christopher, IL, the daughter of Jesse and Opal Green Seibert. She married Lowell Keiger on January 23, 1943 in St. Charles, MO. Mrs. Keiger was a graduate of Christopher High School. She and her husband were the original owners of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Franchise in Springfield. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she volunteered Tuesday afternoons as church receptionist for over 15 years. Mrs. Keiger enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes, yard work, visiting and vacationing with her grandchildren, and being with all of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Richard Seibert. She is survived by her husband, Lowell; daughter: Janie (husband, Bob) West of Springfield; four grandchildren: Stephen Vrabel of Placerville, CA, Damon Vrabel of San Francisco, CA, Todd (wife, Amy) West of Orlando, FL and Jeffrey West of Edwardsville, IL; two brothers: Jack (wife, Jan) Seibert of Belleville, IL and Harry (wife, Joy) Seibert of Madisonville, IL; two aunts, one uncle and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2004. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Reg Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
