Barbara J. Schwind

Barbara J. Schwind, 84, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday June 11, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on August 6, 1930 in Monticello, IL., to Charles “Eddie” and Helen Wallace Vance. Barbara married Edwin J. Schwind in Peoria on August 7, 1948 and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2003.

She is survived by four daughters: Cindy (Gary) Bartolozzi of Dawson, Julie (Rik) Kyes of Springfield, Jody (Rick) Gudgel of Rochester, and Cathy (Tim Rogers) Schwind of Springfield, seven grandchildren: Tonya Trader, Amy Newburn, Jeff Bartolozzi, Brad Kyes, J.R. Kyes, Shawn Gudgel, and Erick Gudgel, 13 great-grandchildren, one brother James Vance of Peoria, one sister-in-law Mary Schwind of Roanoke, IL., one brother-in-law Dale Wise of Pekin, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister Ethel Mae Wise.

Barbara was a member of the Red Hats and a former member of the Kings Daughters. She retired from Marine bank.

A private graveside service will be held. The family will meet friends for a luncheon from12:00pm-2:00pm on Thursday June 18, 2015 at ANSAR Shrine Temple, 630 South 6th Street.
