Barbara Ann Woodcock

Barb was born on May 30, 1938, in East St. Louis, the daughter of Edward and Mary Bret Blue. She married Frank A. Woodcock on May 23, 1959, in East St. Louis.

Barb graduated from St. Theresa High School in 1956. She worked for the State Board of Education for 22 years, Christian County Medical Clinic for 5 years, and Emerson Electric for 3 years. Barb was a member of Church of the Little Flower, Springfield ceramics and craft clubs, and Cachet Club. She was most proud of raising her children, all college graduates. Barb enjoyed playing pinochle, singing in the church choir, and creating memories with all ten of her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was lucky to have shared many birthdays and life achievements with all her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Edward A. Blue.

Barb is survived by her husband, Frank; son, Michael (Afsaneh) Woodcock of Roswell, GA; daughters, Linda (Dr. Lanie) Eagleton of Springfield, Lisa (Dr. Robert) Russell of Bloomington, and Laura Myers of Makanda; grandchildren, Zachary, Austin (Michelle), Michael, Hannah, Emily, Natalie, Christopher, Jake, Justin and Jordan; and brothers, Frank (Lida) Blue of Santa Barbara, CA, and Herbert (Sallie) Blue of Columbia, IL.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings. The visitation will begin with a prayer service.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield, with Rev. Allen Kemme officiating. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings. For those who wish to view the Mass, you may do so by clicking HERE at 4:00 p.m.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
