

Beatrice “Bea” Juanita Jones, 103, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born on August 3, 1912 in New London, Wisconsin to Earl James and Bertha W. Moore Giebel. Beatrice married Howard I. Jones in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1981.
Bea is survived by her son John H. (Pamela K.) Jones of Springfield, three grandchildren: Beth (Damon) Thiriot of Vancouver, WA., Robin Fisher of Arizona, and Charles Jones of North Carolina, eight great-grandchildren: Troy, Ryan, Jade, Tai, Mason, Grant, Donnie, and David, and one niece Maxine Foster. She was preceded in death by her sister Charlotte Alex.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans Guard Tent #102 because of her grandfather’s service during the Civil War. She was also a member of West Side Christian Church since 1958 where she was involved with both the Loyal Women and Charlie’s Angels.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday June 27, 2016 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 10:00am until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
