Beatrice Rose ''Bea'' Higgins

Beatrice Rose ''Bea'' Higgins, 93, of Springfield, passed away at 8:07 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2001 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Beatrice was born October 18, 1907 the daughter of Anthony Reinhart and Mary Elizabeth Carr Kilhoffer in Lanesville, Illinois. She married John B. Higgins in 1938 in Illiopolis. He preceded her in death August 31, 1989. Mrs. Higgins, a Graduate of Illiopolis High School, worked for Bressmer's Department Store for many years. She was a member of the Cathedral Parish. She was a past member of St. Joseph's Home Coterie and Cathedral Altar and Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: John B. Higgins, son-in-law Don Dewitt; one brother and four sisters. She is survived by her two daughters: Margaret Ann ''Margie'' (husband, Robert) Harris of Springfield, Rosemary ''Ro'' Dewit of Cobden; four sister-in-laws: Elizabeth Lott of Springfield, Catherine ''Kay'' (husband, James) Wassell of Springfield, Ruth Higgins of Arlington Heights,IL, and Mildred Kilhoffer of Lakewood, IL; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center from 5-7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2001 with a wake service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2001 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception by Reverend John Ossola. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family of Beatrice Rose ''Bea'' Higgins is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
