

Betty Jo McClintock, 89, of Auburn, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at her residence. Betty Jo was born on September 24, 1928 in Paducah, KY, the daughter of William and Beulah "Doodie" Griggs Spraggs. On June 20, 1949, she married the love of her life, Robert Andrew McClintock in Springfield. Those that knew them, viewed their love as one that could be matched by no other. Bob preceded her in death on September 17, 2009. For almost 30 years she thoroughly enjoyed fulltime ministry as one of Jehovahs Witnesses in Auburn. Betty Jo raised her children with great love, enjoyed being a grandma to each of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandchild. She had many lifelong passions including working outdoors in their garden, taking care of the chickens, and baking pies, banana bread and carrot cake for friends and family. Betty Jo had a great style and enjoyed repurposed items. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dwight Randall McClintock; her parents; and four siblings. She is survived by her three children, Bobbie (husband, Robert) Knight of Auburn, Dale (wife, April) McClintock of Springfield, and Andy (wife, Celeste) McClintock of St. Peters, MO; 13 grandchildren, Scott McClintock, Joseph Hood, Rhonda Reagan, Jessica Ely, David Hood, Sonya Earl, Jeremy McClintock, Nicole McClintock, Brionne Rhodes, Robert Cory, Natasha McMillen, Ashley Johnson, and Grant McClintock; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two siblings, Flora May of Clarksville, TN and Phyllis Daily of Fort Worth, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Betty Jo will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. The family will host a Memorial Ceremony at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 3076 Normandy Rd., Springfield. A Celebration of Life will follow.
