It's been over 2 years since we lost Bev and she is still thought of fondly. Know she's in a much better place as she was a model on how to live your life as a good Christian woman.

To my wonderful Aunt Bev, my godmother, I am going to miss you more than I can say. My only condolence in this is knowing that you are now with my dad. They say that God takes the best first, and now we know that that is truly true. To my cousins, Doug, Stephanie, and Ashley: I love you all very much and am here if you need anything. I have known and been a friend of Bev's since our high school days. Our boys, Stephen and Doug were the best of friends. Doug spent many days with us. As his thoughts were with my family when we lost Herman, so are my family's thoughts and prayers with Doug, Stephanie, and Ashley during their time of grieving. Bev and I met as young teenagers and became fast friends. We share a lot of memories. Even though I moved away, it would always be like time had not passed if we managed to get together when I came home. We helped each other through some rough patches in our young lives and also had a lot of fun going out to party. We both loved to dance. I have a great photo of the two of us at her mom's house on Dirkson Drive. We were all dressed up our in our finest fashion of 1971. We thought we were so cool. Bev had a great sense of humor and a very kind heart. She loved her family very much. Jo, I am so sorry you have to go through this again. I did not know that Susie had passed away as well. Mothers are not supposed to lose their children. Doug, Stephanie and Ashley. I know your hearts are breaking right now. Your mother loved you very much and was fiercely protective of you all. We expect to lose our parents but Bev was too young to go. I am so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I worked with Bev several years back at St.Johns newborn nursery. She was the best supervisor you could ask for. A great person to work next to and always a very hard worker. She always made you feel good about yourself whether at work or having coffee. I am so sorry for your loss of a great and wonderful mother, and daughter.

To Bev's entire family, I only knew Bev as a business acquaintance but she always was so friendly and had a smile on her face. We too know what it is like to lose someone very young. I lost my father at age 60, a nephew at age 19 and a niece at age 15. My only advice is to allow God to give you the strength you will need to endure your loss. I have known Bev for many years through my work in public health. What a wonderful person. I will never forget that smile, that laugh. She always had such a positive attitude and a kind word for anyone she met. Met the lady one time. While I was cutting the grass of one of her neighbors. Very nice person. Offered any help she could provide. At the time the home I was cutting the grass at, was unoccupied. She said that she would watch for any negative activity, and notify me. I'm saddened that she didn't win her personal conflict.

I met Bev through our mutual work of supporting families, children and communities we care about. She was always there with her knowledge and support. Although I have not seen her in quite awhile, she is and will remain, missed.

I worked for Bev as a nurse consultant with the Healthy Child Care Illinois program. Bev was our cheerleader, she helped start this program and lead it well. She always called the nurses her "chicks" until she hired 2 male nurses then we teased her about letting roosters into the hen house. I kept in contact with her off & on during the years and it just so sad that a such a wonderful person has left this earth. We will see her again, for I have confidence she has gone to heaven. Bev, was a warm and huggy person. She always represented compassion and was one to always dismiss any confusion or disagreement. You could always agree to diasgree with her. I will miss her dearly.

Bev was a wonderful person, her kindness and spirit shone through everything she did. Her impact on the women of Illinois through her empathetic administration of Maternal and Child Health programs will forever be remembered. My last opportunity to work with Bev came when she approached me about a project that was near to her heart, providing support services to the women incarcerated at Cook County's Cermak jail. I worked with Bev in public health activities. We attended the Leadership Institute together, and have recieved many communications from her. She was always very bubbly and so positive and supportive. She was an inspiration to so many.

I am shocked at finding Beverly passed away. I was looking up my childhood friends on the web and discovered this. Beverly and her sister Sandy and me and my sister were very close fiends when young. I am very sadden to have found Beverly this way. I wish I could have said goodbye to her.

The childhood memories that Beverly, Sandy, and my sister Liz and I shared will always be the fondest memories of growing up - we all took care of each other.
