Billie Jaqueline Hawkins, 33, of Springfield, died on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at her residence. Billie was born November 30, 1973 in Bloomington, the daughter of Benny Gene Hawkins and Patricia C. Hill. Billie graduated from Freedom Academy in upstate New York and then attended Vanderbilt University for three years and Oxford University for one year. She volunteered for the Springfield Junior Blues and loved the Nashville Predators. She was also a volunteer for First Night Springfield. She was preceded in death by her father: Benny Gene Hawkins. She is survived by her mother: Patricia C. Hill-McLaughlin of Springfield; sister: Amy Wethington of Topeka, KS; brother: Bobby Stanley of Louisiana; sister: Suzen Adams of Auckland, New Zealand; numerous cousins; and her cat: Hepburn.
