He was born on April 8, 1948, in Springfield, IL, the son of Harry Sr. and Gwen (Betcher) Kriener. Billy married Theresa Moore on November 12, 1977, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield.
Billy proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He went on to work for the State of IL and later was self-employed with his wife in the vending industry. Billy enjoyed visiting various fairs in different states, having cookouts, and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Sam, John, Harry Jr., and Paul Kriener.
Billy is survived by his wife, Theresa Kriener of Springfield; daughters, Crystal Kriener of Springfield and Carlie (Ben) Townsend of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Whitney Kriener, Brandon Davis, and Olivia, Owen, and Oliver Townsend; great-grandchild, Koa Demember; sister, Carol Hurley; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, followed by the Ceremony at 12:30 p.m., with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with military honors provided.
