

Bonnie Lou Robinson, 64, of Chatham, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. Born in Highland, Illinois, she was the daughter of James William and Alberta Sanders Robinson. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents. Formerly known as Bonnie Lou Lefrere, she was married to Leonard Lee Lefrere for 27 years, before divorcing. Bonnie is survived by companion and best friend, Bill Shannon; daughter Michelle Lyn (Jim Gain, significant other) Lefrere of Springfield; and son Scott Lee Lefrere of Sacramento, California. Bonnie grew up in Greenville, Illinois and after high school, she worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company. She was a homemaker and mother, and was very happy in those roles. Bonnie was a member of the Chicago & Illinois Midland Chapter of National Railway Historical Society and the Sangamon County Historical Society. She was instrumental in getting the Chatham Railroad Museum started and was the editor of its newsletter, �The Expediter�, for ten years. Bonnie was also a member of the Central Illinois Region of Antique Automobile Club of America. She loved to bake and do various crafts, with needlepoint being her favorite. Bonnie loved Motown, Blues and Rock �n Roll music; organizing different social events and traveling with her companion were among her favorite things to do. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Memorial Gathering: The family will greet friends from 11AM-1PM Friday, August 26, 2011 at Sangamon Prairie Reception Center, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Memorial Services will follow at 1PM at Sangamon Prairie Reception Center, Chatham, with Rev. Sara Isbell officiating. Placement of Bonnie�s urn will follow at Oak Ridge Chapel Mausoleum in Springfield.
