She was born on March 15, 1951, and raised in Wilton, Iowa, where her warm and caring nature began to shine. It was after moving to the Quad Cities that Brenda met her devoted husband of 53 years, Tony Pirrera, in a moment of serendipity while working as a bank teller. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and family.
Brenda’s greatest joy was her family. She and Tony were blessed with three children: Chris (Nicole) Pirrera of Hinsdale, Illinois; Angie (Dave) Scott of Portland, Oregon; and Jenni Pirrera of Chesterton, Indiana. Her cherished grandchildren—Max, Drew, Lauren, Kate, Alissa, Stella, and bonus grandson, Bradie—brought immense happiness to her life. Brenda also treasured her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She had many interests and loved being a Master Gardener. She especially adored the holidays spent with her family, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart. Her love for the season was so profound that it was not unusual to see her Christmas tree still standing well into April. Brenda created countless cherished traditions with her grandchildren that will continue to be celebrated in her memory.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Mary Ford; sister, Carolyn Washe; and brother-in-law, Pete Pirrera.
