

Brian was born April 27, 1961 in Lincoln, IL, the son of Jack and Roberta Boyer. He married Cheryl Kern on June 30, 1994 and she survives. He is also survived by his mother, Roberta Boyer of Beverly Hills, FL; a brother, Bill Boyer of Lincoln, IL; his step-sons Tim (Kate) Kern of Sherman, Jeremy (Jessica) Kern of Springfield, Ryan (Heather) Kern of Williamsville, and Chad Kern of Lincoln; his step-grandchildren: John-Morgan, Zachary, Colton, Emma, Aiden, Madeline, Ethan, and Sydney Kern. He is also survived by his uncles, Dick (Shirley, deceased) and Jim (Colleen) Hayes, his cousins, Barbara Freer, Stephen Hayes, Jimmy Hayes and Tess Wright. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Boyer.
Brian graduated from Mount Pulaski High School and went on to graduate from Lincoln Land Community College. He was Parts Manager for Hayes Auto Supply in Mount Pulaski, which was started by his Grandfather. Brian’s first job there was sweeping the shop floors at age 7. Brian never met a stranger, enjoyed all the people he met at the shop, told countless jokes, and loved to travel, especially to New Orleans. Brian touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch & Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen in Springfield, IL, 62703. There will be a visitation from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, December 29, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30 at 10 am at Hope Church 3000 Lenhart Rd, Springfield, IL 62711. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Williamsville.
