Caitlin Marie Parbs, 22, of Springfield, passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at her home. Caitlin battled depression and completed suicide. Caitlin was born April 13, 1993 in Springfield, the daughter of Michael and Denise (Denton) Parbs. Caitlin was a graduate of Springfield High School and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield, where she made the Dean's List numerous times. Caitlin had a sensitive and kind spirit with a wry sense of humor. She was an avid reader, movie buff, and animal lover. Her greatest love was her family with whom she enjoyed playing board games. She is preceded in death by her father, Michael Parbs, and grandmother, Twilda Neal. She is survived by her mother, Denise Parbs of Springfield; brother, Matthew (wife, Rebecca Beard) Parbs of Clinton, IA; grandparents, Roy & Cheryl Denton of Thebes, IL; and many aunts and uncles, including her aunt, Wanda Parbs of Springfield, who Caitlin regarded as a second mother. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Private family ceremonies were held.
