

Carol S. Barber, 48, a resident of Springfield for thirty years, died at 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at her residence. Carol was born March 26, 1958 in Joliet, the daughter of Herman A. Sr. and Marilyn Baratta Brown. She married Lloyd D. Barber on August 26, 1978 in Kincaid, IL. Carol worked in various restaurants as a manager. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She loved playing bingo, gardening, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. She always placed others first and was loved by everyone. She was preceded in death by her mother: Marilyn Brown and sister: Rosemarie Kounse. She is survived by her husband: Lloyd “Dave” Barber of Springfield; two sons: Steve (wife, Melissa) Netznik and Dustin Barber both of Springfield; two daughters: Rachael and Jaqueline Barber (companion, Rusty Leet) both of Springfield; father: Herman A. Brown, Sr. of Kincaid; eight grandchildren; Tyler Landess, Kristen Netznik, Ryan Netznik, Brooke Netznik, Kylee Barber, Ethan Barber, Davion Joiner and Desiree Joiner; five sisters: Barb (husband, Jim) Barringer of North Carolina, Linda (husband, Leroy) Ackerman of Taylorville, Karen (husband, Dale) Miller of Naples, IL, Mary (husband, Skeeter) Ward of North Carolina and Patricia Rozplochowski of Taylorville; three brothers: David Brown of North Carolina, John (wife, Rhonda) Brown of Tovey and Herman A. Brown, Jr. of Auburn; several aunts and uncles; and many nieces, nephews; many great nieces and great nephews and cousins. The family welcomes friends to visit from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N. 20th St., Springfield with Rev. Mark Schulte celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Pawnee. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Illinois Community Blood Bank, 1134 S. 7th St., Springfield, IL 62703.
