Carol Sue Cravens, 54, of Springfield, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at her residence. Carol was born October 4, 1947 the daughter of Ralph and Ruth Kirkwood Bortmess in Springfield. Carol attended South Side Christian Church. She worked for Ameritech and retired from there on January 11, 1999. She enjoyed traveling, flowers, decorating and interior design. She planned and enjoyed going to social events. She was a loving and wonderful mother. She is survived by one daughter Kelly Cravens of Springfield; her parents: Ralph and Ruth Bortmess of Springfield; one brother: Jim (wife, Jennine) Bortmess of Perth, Australia; former husband: Rodney Cravens of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Chitwood officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
