Carolyn Christine (Chapman) Lee, 67, passed away at 6:42 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Carolyn was born August 31, 1947 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Walter J. and Margaret Chapman (Meland). She married Franklin E. Lee on October 9, 1977 at Christ Episcopal Church in Springfield, IL. Carolyn was a graduate of Springfield High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Lindenwood College. Her principal challenge was Cerebral Palsy, which complicated and shaped her life. Through her parents' love and guidance, the training of special teachers and therapists, Carolyn acquired mobility, verbal skills, and a meaningful life. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ed Lee of Springfield; three sisters, Mary (husband, Dennis) Fales of Venice, FL, Ann (husband, Cullom) Davis of Springfield, and Jane (husband, Vincent) Siemer of New Zealand; one brother, Walter J. (wife, Martha) Chapman, Jr. of Chatham; and many nieces and nephews. Private family ceremonies will be held in her memory.
