

Carolyn F. Mottar, 77, of Springfield, passed away on January 29, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on October 7, 1940 in Jacksonville to Oliver Leo and Faye Walker Lewis. Carolyn married Robert Mottar Sr., on October 26, 1958 in Springfield and he survives.
Mrs. Mottar is also survived by her children: Lyn Mottar of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, Robert (Cathy) Mottar Jr., of Carol Stream, IL., and Teri Garrett of Yulee, FL., three grandchildren: Jennifer (Garrett) Phillips of North Richland Hills, TX., Ashley (Michael) Bolahan of Farmington Hills, MI., and Morgan Garrett of Austin, TX., one great-grandchild Tess Harper Phillips, one sister Vicki (Ken) Waage, one brother Daniel (Linda) Lewis and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother William Ingles and son-in-law Christopher Garrett.
Carolyn worked as an accountant with the State of Illinois, retiring after thirty years of service. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and traveling. Carolyn owned and operated the Yarn Nook in Springfield. Her pride and joy was her family and the times they shared over the years including hosting Christmas for family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday February 2, 2018 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. The family will meet friends from 4:00pm-7:00pm Thursday at Bisch and Son.
