Catherine A. Bressan

Catherine A. Bressan, 85, of Springfield, died at 1:52 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at Lavonne’s Tender Care. Catherine was born on October 6, 1919 in Springfield, the daughter of Thomas and Emma Gasparin Veneri. She married John Thomas Bressan in 1937 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on March 21, 1997. Catherine was a member of Church of the Little Flower for over 50 years, St. Anthony’s Club, St. Teresa Guild for over 50 years and Catholic Daughters of America. She was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling, gardening and flowers. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother: George Veneri and one sister: Celestina Petrilli. She is survived by daughters: Emma Jane Winegarden of Arlington, TX, Patricia (husband, Tom) Wilber of Dawson; three grandsons: Craig Winegarden, Gregory Winegarden and Andy Wilber; one granddaughter: Kristy Garrisson; four great grandchildren: Katie Winegarden, Zoey and Max Wilber and Sydney Garrisson and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr. Springfield with Father Chuck Edwards celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
