Catherine Eileen Walker, 85, of Springfield, passed away at 4:40 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at St. John's Hospital. She was born December 12, 1915, the daughter of Roy and Florence Haugh Mayer in New Berlin, IL. She married Albert M. Walker, Sr. in 1936 and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1981. She was a homemaker and a member of Christ the King Parish. She was preceded in death by her husband, one infant sister: Peggy, and one brother: James Mayer. She is survived by two sons: Albert Walker, Jr. of Springfield, and James Walker of Springfield; one sister: Joann (husband-Raymond) Canham of Springfield, three grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2001 with a Wake Service at 5 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. David Lantz at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Church on Saturday, January 27, 2001. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
