

Cecile Mae Traeger, 96, of Springfield, died at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at her home. Cecile was born November 1, 1918 in Springfield, the daughter of Thomas and Matilda Smith Cartwright. She married Ralph W. Traeger on May 27, 1955 in Springfield. Her beloved Ralph preceded her in death on December 7, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harold Cartwright. She is survived by her daughter, Katharine Traeger of Springfield, who has lost her best friend. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Raymond (Helen) Traeger and Albert Traeger; a sister-in-law, Evelyne Traeger; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cecile retired from her employment as a paralegal for the U.S. Small Business Administration in 1988. She was a proud life-long Northender. She was an avid reader, enjoyed keeping up with current events, and loved animals. Cecile was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2477 W.
