

Charles Richard Kochman, 69, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday April 27, 2013 at his residence. He was born on December 10, 1943 in Springfield to William and Clara Schimanski Kochman. He married Shirley Kemp on January 16, 1998 in Springfield and she survives.
Charles is also survived by six step-children: Brenda (James) Cole of Springfield, John Michael (Kim) VanDenBossche of Granite City, Danny J. (Cyndi) VanDenBossche of O’Fallon, IL., and Mark A VanDenBossche, Tamara J. (Martin) McLaughlin, and Kimberly A. VanDenBossche all of Springfield, three brothers: William (Verna) Kochman of Springfield, Herbert Kochman of Las Vegas, NV., and Gerald (Kristin) Kochman of Kenosha, WI., four sisters: Esther (Herb) Theilen of Chatham, Dorothy (Orville) Ladage of Waverly, Janet Hazlett of Mason, OH., and Carol Anne (Ron) Oldani of Champaign, one brother-in-law Bob Hazlett,one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kochman, many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Arnold and Raymond Kochman, one brother-in-law, Robert Hazlett, and one step-grandson Todd A. Cole.
Mr. Kochman was a US Navy Veteran. He worked at St. John’s Hospital coffee shop and County Market. He enjoyed watching baseball.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday May 3, 2013 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 11:00am until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
