Charles E. Stubblefield

He was born July 4, 1926 in Strawberry Plains, TN the son of Hiram V. and Floy Stubblefield. He married Betty Nunes Mar. 25, 1948 and she preceded him in death in 1988.

Charlie was a World War II veteran and had recently taken part in an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. He was the State of Illinois Sales representative for the Samsonite Company, was an agent/broker at Springfield Real Estate and most recently had worked at True Value Hardware on Stevenson Drive. Charlie was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He is survived by his son, Steven (wife, Barbara) of Brookfield; grandchildren Jason and Kristen Stubblefield; great granddaughter, Alexis Breanne Stubblefield and a sister, Margaret “Peggy” (husband, James) Halligan of Geneva, FL.

The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel where friends may call Friday Nov. 26 from 5 to 7:00 PM and where services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday Nov. 27, 2010. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Jacksonville where military honors will be conducted.
