

Charlotte B. Blissett, 73, of Springfield, died at 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 in Anabel, Missouri. She was born on February 12, 1933 in Springfield, the daughter of Frank and Ethel Falconburg Stubbs. She married Glenn Blissett on May 20, 1950 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on March 12, 1999. A lifelong resident of Springfield, she attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Grade School and graduated from Ursuline Academy. She was a homemaker and previously worked for the Wilhold Bobby Pin Factory formerly in Springfield. She also worked in local nursing homes in the dietary department. Charlotte was a generous and loving person who enjoyed helping others. She contributed time and money to the Swann Special Care Center in Champaign and was one of their main donors when they needed to purchase a new bus. She enjoyed several hobbies including sewing and gardening. Most of all Charlotte loved Christmas; she was always filled with the “Holiday Spirit” of spreading cheer and good will. During the holidays she loved to bake and her wonderful pizzelles were coveted by all. Her generosity shown through, as she baked thousands of pizzelles and distributed them to nursing homes, schools, friends and family. Charlotte enjoyed taking care of her family and friends. All those whose lives she touched, loved her dearly and she will be sadly missed and remembered fondly by all. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Judy Blissett; one son: Glen “Dickie” Blissett and two sisters: Rita Miller and Muriel Burris. She is survived by one daughter-in-law: Jackie Blissett of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren: Heather, Jason, Jeremy and Judy Blissett; three brothers: Raymond (wife, Virginia) Stubbs of Anabel, MO, Robert (wife, Lynn) Stubbs of Springfield and Frank (wife, Shirley) Stubbs also of Anabel, MO; one sister: Doris Denniss of Riverton and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Haag officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
