Christine M. Petrilli

Christine was born on March 24, 1946, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Louis J. and Marguerite Giampoaca Petrilli. She married Sherry Thacker on February 23, 2015, in Jacksonville, IL.

Christine was a graduate of Ursuline Academy. She was a dedicated employee for the United States Postal Service for 32 years, starting as a mail carrier and ending her career as a supervisor. Christine lived by the quote “Work Smarter, Not Harder.” She had a particular personality and she never ceased to tell you if you were not doing something correctly. Christine was very generous to her sisters and loved her grandchildren. She would be there for her family whenever they needed her.

She had a natural talent for art and loved to paint. Christine enjoyed staying active through playing bocce ball and water aerobics. Walking the beach in Florida on the Atlantic side and traveling to other areas of the lower 48 states, was a favorite pastime of Christine’s.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jaime Ledford; and her sister, Anita K. Petrilli.

She is survived by her wife, Sherry Thacker of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Ledford of Springfield; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two siblings, Carmen L. and Denise Petrilli.

A Memorial Ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. A Memorial Gathering will follow until 4:00 p.m.
