She was born in Springfield, March 27, 1919, the daughter of George and Ruby Hulbert Dressendorfer. She married Clinton Dawson and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Dawson was a seamstress and costume designer for the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. She also made and designed costumes for the Springfield Ballet Company, Springfield Muni Opera and the Springfield Theatre Guild. She baked for the Country Market for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Rigdon of Naperville and Nancy Adair of Springfield; a son, George Dawson of Springfield; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Springfield Ballet Company, 420 S. 6th St. Springfield,IL. 62701.
