
Claire Lee Steinhour, 66, of Springfield, died at 9:55 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. Claire was born January 22, 1939 in Springfield, the daughter of James C. and Grace I. Loss Thompson. She married Ronald D. Steinhour on May 31, 1959 at Southern View Chapel in Springfield. Claire was a member of Berean Baptist Church. She was employed as a switchboard operator for Horace Mann Insurance Company and Illinois Bell Telephone Company. She was preceded in death by her parents. Claire is survived by her husband: Ronald Steinhour of Springfield; one daughter: Letha R. Yazell of Springfield; one son: Dwain K. Steinhour of Petersburg; five grandchildren; two brothers: Jack (wife, Lu) Thompson of Loami, David (wife, Nancy) Thompson of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Dr. Richard R. Ahlgrim officiating. Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Irish Grove Cemetery, near Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Berean Baptist Church, 3401 S. 6th St. Springfield, IL 62703.
