Cora Sue Fishburn

She was born on May 11, 1939 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Emmitt and Millie (Etheridge) Fettis. She married Harry Wesley Fishburn on October 3, 1975 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2018.

Cora worked in hotel maintenance for many years. She was formerly active in the Eagles’ Club in Springfield.

She is survived by 7 children, Ava (husband Tom) Pacholke of Virginia, IL, Russie Nation of Springfield, Robert Woods of Ina, IL, Sherrie Williams of Springfi9eld, James Woods of Springfield, Holly (husband Bill) Davies of Springfield, and Lance Fishburn of Springfield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother Sam (wife Penny) Fettis of Springfield.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons Rodney and Wesley; 2 daughters Tina and Roxanne; 4 brothers, Emmitt, George, Dave, and Rockne; and 3 sisters, Janet, Roberta, and Judy.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield where a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 2 to 4 pm. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded. An inurnment will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
