Daisy Irene Arnold

Daisy Irene Arnold, 80, of Springfield, died at 12:21 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Regency Care. Daisy was born in Spaulding, the daughter of Kenneth Walker and Thelma Greenan Minser. She married Norman W. Arnold, Sr. on June 4, 1955 at Saint Patrick's Church; he preceded her in death on August 2, 2003. Daisy graduated from Feitshans High School. She and her husband owned and operated a bowling alley, restaurant, and a RV dealership in Illiopolis. She was previously employed as a staff accountant at Lincoln Land Oil and Harper Oil where she retired in April 2002. She enjoyed cross-stitch, arts and crafts, going to garage sales, and bowling. Daisy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Thelma Mae Pribble and Mary L. Baptist; and brother, Kenneth Arthur Minser. She is survived by her children, Lori (husband, Thomas) McCarthy of Prescott, AZ, Karen (husband, Michael) Johnston of Mokena, Jill Arnold of Tinley Park, and Norman W. Arnold, Jr. of Springfield; grandchildren, Jackie (husband, Jeff) Cullen, Meghan (husband, Tim) Geary, Lauren (husband, Matt) Withrow, Hank Johnston, and Luke Johnston; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
