Daniel K Davis

Dan was born in Springfield, September 4, 1948, the son of John and Betty (Murphy) Davis. He married Joanne Pfaff and she preceded him in death, April 3, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Dan worked early in his career as a coal miner. He then worked as an electrician with U.S. Steel and from there, retired. He enjoyed camping and hanging out with his buddies. Dan was known for his generosity and loyalty. His greatest joy was without question, his family. He was the handyman, counselor, mentor, and all around go-to for anything his family or friends needed. He looked forward to gatherings at holidays, impromptu visits, and being together for whatever reason. His unconditional love and devotion will not be forgotten.

Surviving are his children: Nikki (Scott) Norris of Auburn, IL, Daniel K (Arlene) Davis Jr. of Springfield, IL, Cindy (Rob) Bartlett, Sherry Walker both of Springfield, IL, Wade Grieshaber of Pawnee, IL, and Jim (Adriel) Grieshaber of Surprise, AZ, his siblings: Darla Davis, Leisa (Mike) Lahnum and Brian (Karen) Davis all of Rochester, IL and Gerry (Lu Ann) Davis of Glenarm, IL. He has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by his canine companion, Jerome.

Cremation Rites will be accorded, and private family graveside services will be held in Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may direct memorial contributions to the Animal Protective League.
