Daniel was born on October 29, 1977, in Decatur, IL, the son of Raymond and Jane Ellen (Fenton) Helm.
Daniel was a 1995 graduate of Riverton High School and earned his associate degree from Colorado Tech. University in Colorado, Springs, CO. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps until his retirement. Daniel loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing an occasional game of pool.
Daniel was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Norville R. Fenton.
He is survived by his parents; son, Kyle Helm of Maryland; daughter, Jenna Helm of Virginia; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Butler Funeral Home—Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following visitation.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019, at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with military honors by the IVBDSC and the U.S. Marine Corps.
