Daniel Brian Shepherd

Daniel Brian Shepherd, 34, of Springfield, passed away at 1:40 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his residence. Daniel was born in Springfield, the son of Ronald Shepherd and Diana Bynum Germann. Daniel was a graduate of Athens High School. He participated in a trade program at Kaskaskia College, where he learned the trade of cabinet making. He was currently a night supervisor at Nudo Products. Daniel was training for building trades work with WorkforceHIRE Education through Lincoln Land Community College. He loved fishing, the outdoors, four wheeling, the St. Louis Cardinals, and Christmas. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marrel V. and Wanda F. Shepherd. He is survived by his father, Ronald (Pam) Shepherd of Springfield; mother, Diana (Harold) Germann of Springfield; two sisters, Nicole (Eric) Killen of Chatham and Sierra Germann of Springfield; maternal grandparents, Ray Bynum and Loretta Brooks; nephew, Ryan Killen; niece, Allison Killen; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; many great friends, including lifelong best friend, Ben Guillou; and his beloved dog, Rocky. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. The visitation will begin with a funeral ceremony at 5:00 p.m., with Rev. Martin E. Woulfe officiating. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
