Darlene Pruitt Johnson

She was born in Fidelity, Illinois on December 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Howard and Sylvia Leak Pruitt. She married Robert Alan Johnson on June 17, 1946 at the First Methodist Church in Springfield.Darlene was a homemaker. For many years, she was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church, Kings Daughters, and Island Bay Yacht Club. She had enjoyed antiques and playing golf with her friends.

She is survived by two sons, Gregory (Brenda) of Springfield and Gordon (Doris) of St. Louis; a grandson, Brandon Johnson of Chicago; and a niece, Glenda Dodson and a nephew, Martin (Gale) Pruitt of Auburn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on December 29, 2013, and her brother, Glenn, in 1960.

Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. A private family memorial service will be held at her graveside. Interment will be at Mayfield Memorial Park, Carlinville.
