David Paul Lucchesi

Dave was born November 13, 1960, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Robert R. and Laura A. (Moore) Lucasey. He married Shelley Renee Hopping on May 14, 1988, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield, IL.

Dave graduated from Griffin High School in 1979 and attended Miami Dade College. He was employed as a UPS driver in Jacksonville, IL. Dave found enjoyment coaching his children in sports, restoring old cars, walking his dog, and watching baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Shelley R. Lucchesi of Springfield; children, Christopher David (wife, Megan) Lucchesi, Anthony Joseph Lucchesi, and Lauren Danielle Lucchesi, all of Springfield; siblings, Richard “Rick” (wife, Teresa) Lucasey, Tom (wife, Sharon) Lucchesi, John (wife, Alice) Lucchesi, all of Springfield, and Mary Lucchesi Youngblood of Littleton, CO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

The family held a memorial gathering on March 12, 2020, in David’s honor.
