

David James O’Shea, 59, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday February 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born on July 20, 1953 in Springfield, the son of Thomas L. and Anna Marie Lawson O’Shea. He married Patricia “Trish” Blankenship on April 29, 1972 in Rantoul, IL., and she survives.
Mr. O’Shea is also survived by his two sons: Jeff (April) O’Shea of Williamsville, and Scott O’Shea of Springfield, his grandson Tyler O’Shea and granddaughter Reilly O’Shea both of Williamsville, one brother James (Ann) O’Shea of Sacremento, CA., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was a US Air force veteran serving in Korea, and after his honorable discharge he then went to work for Lake Shore Press for over 25 years. Mr. O’Shea was a phlebotomist at St. John's Hospital, and then went on to become a Point of Care Specialist at St. John’s Hospital and a phlebotomist instructor. David loved hosting his annual St. Patrick’s Day house party, and spending time with his beloved pets, friends, and loving family.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm on Wednesday February 27, 2013 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 11:00am until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
