David L. Stratton

Dave was born on April 29, 1951, in Jacksonville, the son of Arthur E. and Muriel L. (Daugherty) Stratton. He married Marcia Launer on April 28, 1984.

Dave attended Palmyra High School and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He worked for Coca-Cola, Hostess, Lee’s Parcel Delivery and Kluckman Delivery; retiring from AT&T. Dave also owned his own computer store, All Computer Concepts, Inc. He was very self-taught and enjoyed tinkering with trucks, cars, motorcycles, and computers. Dave also built his family home. He never met a stranger and was friends with everyone. Dave loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Christofer Eugene Stratton.

Dave is survived by his wife, Marcia; daughters, Vangie (Mike) Preston and Erin (Andrew) Moe; son, Ryan Stratton; grandchildren, Tyler Stratton, Kaylee Preston, and McKenzie and Eva Moe; great-grandson, Brantley Preston; brothers, Rick, Jim (Cheryl), Danny, and Brian Stratton; sisters, Linda Dunn and Sandy Angelo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2477 W. Washington St., Springfield, IL. A Memorial Ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Busboom officiating.

A private family burial will take place at Old Salem Cemetery at a later date.
