Collins (pronounced (Dem-E-on) was known by many as Dee-Dee, Big D and his publicly chosen name, Damien.
His big heart was proportionate to his big smile and the big love he gave to each and every person he came across.
A gentle giant with quiet strength, life presented Demeion with many obstacles. But nothing ever seemed to stop him. He was the person who would show up, no matter what.
A favor? Some advice? A helping hand? Say less. He was there. Because that was just who he was.
He showed up. He took on the responsibility, and was always there for his people.
It comes to no surprise why he quickly would be promoted at his jobs, forged himself as an entrepreneur, and most importantly was seen as a best friend to everyone who got a chance to know him.
Demeion lived by principles that grounded everything he did.
“Family over Everything”, “Move in Silence”, “Be Kind to Everyone” and “Collins Strong”
This was his North Star and will forever be a shining example of what it means to lead with love, determination, kindness, and strength.
As an avid (and sometimes delusional) Bears fan, football and sports is what brought him the most joy. He loved everything LeBron James and the Chicago Bears.
He was no stranger to sports debates and his favorite moments were watching the Bears, Cubs, or Lakers, spending time laughing with his family and friends, or being the devoted family man he was for his children.
His children will always be his world. From being at every dance competition, tee ball game, gymnastics meet or cheer performance, he poured anything and everything into his kids.
They will always remember him as the dad who was kind, loved them endlessly, and gave them extra desserts after dinner.
Demeion is survived by his 4 children, Aubrianna Collins (7), Gabrienna Collins (5), Xander Collins (3) , and Henry Collins (1) as well as his bonus children Madilynn, Amaya, Fallyn, and Stelliah.
His significant other and love of his life, Jessica Shull as well Elizabeth Lerch, the mothers of his children will continue to uphold his loving memory as well as his younger brother and best friend, Corey Collins.
Demeion was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, co-workers, and community.
