She was born on September 9, 1953, in Bloomington, IL, the daughter of Hartzel and Barbara (King) Worthey. Dena married Jerry D. Daugherty on January 28, 1997, in Springfield.
Dena attended Atlanta Grade School and graduated from Atlanta High School in 1972. She went on to work for Eaton Electric, from which she retired after 47 years of service. Dena enjoyed reading and watching tv, and listening to country and Christian music. Her relationships with her family and friends were very important to her, especially with her grandkids. Dena was known to be friendly, generous, and an overall good person.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nena; and brother-in-law, Don.
Dena is survived by her husband, Jerry Daugherty of Mechanicsburg; sons, Skyler Hall and Will (Hope Renfro) Hall; step-son, Darrin (Brenda) Daugherty; step-daughter, Tracy Daugherty; grandchildren, Ella M. Hall, Cole M. Hall, Karra M. Hall, Joshua Daugherty, and Elijah Daugherty; siblings, Michael Worthey of Lincoln, Donald Worthey of McLean, and Sue (Bill) Beavers of Burton View.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, prior to services.
Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield, followed by the Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. with Celebrant Parian Hull officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
