Dolores Jean Dunn

Dolores. J. Dunn, 65, of Springfield, died at 8:53 a.m. on December 24, 2007 at her home. Dolores was born on May 27, 1942 in Bluffs the daughter of Earl and Rachel Roate Smith. She married James W. Dunn on January 21, 1968 in Bluffs. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father: Daniel Hall; Grandaughter: Jessica Marie Morris; and brother: Larry L. Smith. Dolores graduated from the Illinois School for the Deaf in 1962, and was a former member of the Deaf Club. She worked as a Clerk/Secretary for the State of Illinois, Department of Rehabilitative Services, for 38 years until her retirement. She is survived by her husband: James W. Dunn of Springfield; a son: David L. Dunn(companion, Shannon Morris) of Jacksonville; three grandchildren: Tiffany and Jeffery of Jacksonville and Daniel of Meredosia; two sisters: Mary (husband, Don) Rickard of Naples and Judy (husband, Roger) Elliott of Jacksonville; two brothers: Raymond (wife, Wanda) Smith of Joplin, MO and Robert (Mae) Smith of Lancaster, CA; twelve nieces and eight nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremony will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2007 following the visitation with Wayne Hammitt officiant. Cremation will be accorded by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield following the funeral ceremony.
