She was born in Springfield, IL, April 3, 1937, the daughter of Earl W. and Opal M (Kelly) Moore. She was a “war time” bride, marrying Eugene Sisti February 10, 1952, as his National Guard Platoon was activated for duty in California. They celebrated 65 years before he preceded her in death December 5, 2017.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Michael, two brothers, Denny and Jim Moore and a sister, Wanda Jack.
Dolores devoted her life to caring for her children and supporting them in all their activities and endeavors. She was an avid reader, especially the stories and documentaries about WWII. To her family, she was an authoritarian about WWII. She was a devout Christian with a strong faith in her Savior. She was a “sweet lady” and will be missed for her kindness and unconditional love for her family and everyone she met. Dolores was a faithful member of Calvary Temple Church, since 1972, and was a mentor to many young people as seen in Titus 2:4-5
Surviving is her daughter, Cheryl I. Sisti Wohlers of Springfield, her son, David W. (wife Tracy) Sisti of South Milwaukee, WI, three grandchildren; Jonathan Sisti, Tyler (wife Kaitlyn) Sisti and Katrina (husband Nicholas) Sisti Biancuzzo. She has several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, August 21, 2025, beginning at 4:30 pm until the time of a funeral service at 6:00 pm at Calvary Church 501 W. Hazel Dell Springfield, IL 62711. Pastor Mark Johnson will officiate. The burial will be private in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may direct memorial contributions to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
