

Don Roesch, 75, of Chatham, passed away unexpectedly in an accident at 9:40 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011. Don was born September 6, 1935 in Loami, the son of Edward and Agnes Walsh Roesch. He married Shirley Rainbolt on September 15, 1962 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Springfield. Don was a 1953 graduate of New Berlin High School and retired from Central Illinois Light Company after 34 years of service as a journeyman pipefitter. He also farmed in the Loami area. He was a member of the Sangamon County Farm Bureau and served on the Board of Directors. He had also served on various Catholic committees. Don was a very hardworking man who enjoyed spending time with family and attending their sporting events. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Roesch; sister, Mary Huddleston; brothers-in-law, Bill Conboy and Daniel Huddleston. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Roesch of Chatham; children, Donald (wife, Kris) Roesch of Troy, James (wife, Shannon) Roesch of White Hall, and Patrick (wife, Samantha) Roesch of Loami; grandchildren, Jeremy, Mary Kate, Justin, Steven, Allison, Patrick and Jamie Roesch; siblings, Audrey Roesch of Springfield, Richard (wife, Dorothy) Roesch of Springfield, Evelyn Conboy of Rochester and James (wife, Gloria) Roesch of Springfield; aunt, Polly Roesch of Springfield; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 404 E. Birch St., New Berlin. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin Laughery celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Berlin.
