Donald Edward Murphy

Donald Edward Murphy, 73, life-long resident of Springfield passed away at 10:50 a.m., November 25, 2001 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born January 30, 1928 the son of John and Geneva Moore Murphy in Springfield. He married Laura Ellen Moore in Springfield on October 16, 1948 and she preceded him in death on August 4, 1990. Mr. Murphy had attended and graduated from Cathedral Boys High School. He was a data processing manager for Fiat-Allis and retired from there with 35 years of service. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son: Kenneth and a daughter: Sharon. He is survived by two daughters: Sheryl K. Murphy of Springfield, and Pamela J. Williams of Springfield; two sons: Ronald E. Murphy of Springfield, and Michael J. (wife, Kay) Murphy of Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister: Maureen Murphy of Springfield; one aunt: Helen Sparks of Springfield, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2001. Funeral Services will be held at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Rayappa Repudi officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
