

Donna Dean Hall, 78 of Chatham, departed from this life to be eternally present with her Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 29th at 6:50 pm in her home, surrounded by family. She was born Feb 22, 1935 in Miami Florida to William Walter and Mildred Fern (Bergschneider) Downey. Donna spent most of the next 68 years in Springfield, IL and the last 10 years in Chatham, IL. She married Thomas E. Hall on November 19, 1955 and they recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Hall of Chatham; her children Laura Blackwell deceased, (husband Bruce) of Springfield, Greg (wife, Joyce) Hall of Kentland, IN; Brian (wife, Sheri) Hall of Springfield. Grandchildren: Faith, Luke, Hope, and Grace Hall and Kaleigh, Kimberly, and Kyle Hall; Sisters: Bonnie Parkhurst of New Berlin, IL, Patricia Cox of Springfield, Constance Jennings (husband Ross) of Springfield, Roberta Miklos of Las Vegas, NV and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends. Following graduation from Springfield High School, Donna worked as a secretary for the State Attorney�s office and as Administrative Aid and Constituent problem solver for IL State Representative J. David Jones. She was active in politics, including 2 terms as Republican Women�s Club president. She spent many years as a homemaker and mother. She loved her children, grandchildren, garden, home, her dog Mickey and being with her best friend and husband, Tom. She enjoyed singing with the Singing Seven in High School, with the Muni Opera, and later with her husband who accompanied her on the piano at home. She was involved and concerned in community activities in Springfield as well as in Chatham. She had a strong love and passion for her Lord and for helping others. She freely shared this love for the Lord with everyone she met and touched many lives throughout her life. She enjoyed reading and studying the bible and wrote many bible studies and lessons that she shared with her family and friends. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, at Staab Polk Funeral Home 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham. Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, Chatham. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
