

Donna L. Polk, 76, of Sherman, died at 2:20 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2010 at St. John's Hospice. Donna was born August 16, 1934 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Loren F. and Gladys Tinsley Wilgus. She married William "Bill" Polk on September 19, 1952 in Springfield, he preceded her in death in 2008. Donna was a supervisor in the Secretary of State's office before retiring in 2000. She was fun to be around and enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donna liked going on gambling trips. She was also preceded by one granddaughter, Gina Marie Pachlhofer. She is survived by her children Karen (Larry) Fagg of Sherman, Dennis (companion, Monique) Polk of Springfield, and Sharon (Carl) Rudin of Sherman; eight grandchildren, Kari (John) Neathammer of Sherman, Christine (Brian) Mohr of Chicago, Mark Polk of Springfield, Larry (Quinn) Fagg of Mt. Pulaski, Karla (Art) St. Germain of Burbank, CA, Sara (Sean) Carroll of Chicago, Megan Polk of Chicago, and Denise Pachlhofer of Sherman; two great grandchildren, William "Will" Polk and Ainslie Mohr and one great granddaughter due in April; one sister, Pat (Ken) Ruehle of WI; Monique's daughter, Chloe; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her beloved dog Fritz whom she spoiled so much. Family will receive friends from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremony will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Msgr. John Ossola officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
