Doris Lee Ritz

She was born on May 2, 1947 in Springfield, the daughter of William and Betty Jane (Lovell) Draper, Sr.. She married John Edward Ritz on March 7, 1980 and he survives.

Mrs. Ritz worked as an accounts receivable clerk for Federated Funeral Directors for 30 years. She was a member of Pasfield Southern Baptist Church in Springfield.

Besides her husband John “Eddie”, she is survived by her mother Betty Jane Draper of Springfield, a daughter, Janet (husband Richard) Hackney of Decatur, IL, 2 sons, Ronald (wife Shannon) Estes, Jr. of Chatham, IL, and David (wife Krista) Estes of Springfield, a step-daughter Missy (husband Jerry) VanMeter of Sherman, IL and a step-son John Ritz, Jr. of Decatur, 14 grandchildren, Kandice (husband Ronnie), Katie, Jami, Amanda, Jeffrey, Alexis, Nathan, Ryan, Payton, Sydnee, Nikki, Alli, Danielle, and Zane, 4 great-grandchildren, Ayden, Madison, Khloe, and Trenton. She is also survived by a sister, Janet Gaynor of Taylorville, IL and 4 brothers, Robert (wife Janice) Draper, William (wife Sherleen) Draper, John (wife Lynn) Draper, and Sam (wife Madeline) Draper, all of Springfield, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father William Draper, Sr., and a brother Tommy Draper.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 1 pm at Pasfield Southern Baptist Church in Springfield, with Rev. Milton Bost officiating.
