Dorothy D. Berberet, 97, of Springfield, died at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at St. John's Hospice. Dorothy was born March 18, 1917 in Springfield, the daughter of Clarence O. and Gladys A. Carman Cox. She married Robert Berberet on August 29, 1941 in Wilmington, NC. Dorothy was a homemaker for most of her life, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clarence Cox, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Robert of Springfield; her children, Susan Berberet, Robert (wife, Rhonda) Berberet, Jr., James (wife, Julie) Berberet, Mary Berberet, William (wife, Mary Kay) Berberet, and Thomas (wife, Linda) Berberet, all of Springfield; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Eynon of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N. 20th St., Springfield with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
